Current Ohio applicants for sports betting in Q4

Up to 40 Type-A licenses, which include mobile and online sports betting applications, will be awarded in the Buckeye State, setting Ohio online sports betting up for a major debut. Retail sports betting businesses are authorized under type B licenses.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission concluded the summer application period. The first round of sports betting licenses for Type A and Type B licenses were approved. In addition, the following proprietor licenses were approved:

The OCCC awarded provisional permission to eight businesses on September 7 who would have both Type A and Type B licenses, signaling the beginning of the shape-shifting process for sports betting in the Buckeye State. The Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Reds, Columbus Crew, four casinos/racinos (Hollywood Casino Toledo, Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley, JACK Cleveland Casino, and JACK Thistledown Racino), and Muirfield Village Golf Club are among those that have received approval.

Along with the 200 bars and restaurants already authorized in August, 300 Type C licenses were also issued.
