Notable moments from the 2022 MLS All-Star Game

Similar to the unbeaten streak of four matches that the United States men’s national team has had against Mexico, Major League Soccer now has bragging rights of its own in comparison to Liga MX.

With a 2-1 win against the MX All-Stars on Wednesday night at Allianz Field in St. Paul, Minnesota, the 2022 MLS All-Stars clinched their second consecutive victory over the Liga MX All-Stars.

Los Angeles FC’s Carlos Vela and Seattle Sounder FC striker Raúl Ruidíaz scored the goals for MLS. Kevin lvarez, a defender for Pachuca, scored the only goal for the Liga MX team.

The following are five noteworthy moments from the 2022 All-Star Game.

The goal was scored by Carlos Vela as left-back Diego Palacios of LAFC separated two Liga MX defenders and then lobbed a cross over the congestion in the penalty box to Vela.

Mukhtar starts at 8:22 p.m.

Hany Mukhtar, who plays for Nashville SC, participated in his first Major League Soccer All-Star Game by coming in as a substitute for Carlos Vela in the 32nd minute.

Gil was able to draw a penalty after 72 minutes played, but Seattle’s Raul Ruidaz converted the penalty in the game’s 73rd minute. This was in front of Wonderwall fans’ section on the south end of the stadium.

A derogatory slogan was shouted by fans around 9:39 p.m.

There were 19,107 people in attendance for the match between the MLS and Liga MX All-Stars. A significant number of Mexican supporters were overheard yelling a homophobic slur, which almost caused the game to be called off before it started.

When players from the other team’s goalie position take goal kicks, fans yell “p*to”. The stadium was filled with boos that started in the 86th minute. The public speaker afterward warned the crowd that play would be halted if the chanting continued.

The stadium production staff started to play music as MLS goalie Sean Johnson booted the ball long.

However, 62 minutes into the game, Vazquez gave way to Cincinnati’s Acosta Luciano as part of MLS manager Adrian Heath’s plan to switch out several players. Acosta met Vazquez as he came into the game.

Vazquez said on Monday that he was serious about this week, but he may not have had enough time on the field to live up to his high hopes.

Summary & How does this affect the MLS Playoffs?

The 2022 Major League Soccer All-Star game was always going to be a friendly exhibition, but it was important to FC Cincinnati.

Few MLS teams would’ve been happier about Wednesday’s match between the MLS and MX all-star teams at Allianz Field than FC Cincinnati. It used the Game’s stage to go on and celebrate the first-ever players in that league’s annual mid-summer showcasing.

The night ended with MLS beating Liga MX for the second year. It was another exciting part of FC Cincinnati’s season, which is way better than anyone expected. Brandon Vazquez made history when he came in to start the second half.
