Reds and BetMGM official partnership live in Ohio

BetMGM, a well-known online gaming and sports betting provider is now the official sports betting partner of the Cincinnati Reds. According to a statement Tuesday morning from BetMGM Ohio. The deal is in place before Ohio’s legalized sports betting begins on January 1, 2023. Giving Cincinnati sports fans another reason to be excited about next season.

Passionate Fan base

BetMGM’s CEO recognized the passion of Ohio sports fans. “Today’s announcement signals the beginning of our ambitions to build the most enjoyable and innovative sports betting experience in Ohio.” Through their ties with the Reds and MGM Northfield Park, Adam Greenblatt said. “We look forward to offering exclusive BetMGM content to Ohio’s fervent sports fans.”

Gambling in stadiums?

The multi-year contract stipulates that Great American Ball Park will also launch a retail BetMGM Sportsbook. This new area will replace the Machine Room restaurant on the stadium’s northeast side. The team maintains that betting will only be available outside the ticketed portions of the ballpark. Limiting access to the arena plaza level entrance. The new sportsbook will however allow customers to view and gamble on games all year round. Providing a forum for bettors to wager on games outside of baseball season.

The Reds say that the Great American Ball Park sportsbook will be located in the area that the Machine Room restaurant presently calls home on the ballpark’s northeast side. Fans can watch games and place wagers year-round in this area, accessible from the arena’s plaza entrance outside the ticketed ballpark areas. The team promises that BetMGM signs, a suite with BetMGM branding, club seats, and VIP experiences will all be “prominently” displayed around the ballpark.

The Reds are the most recent Cincinnati group to announce a betting partnership. After Nationals Park in Washington opened this year, Great American Ballpark will have the second in-stadium BetMGM sportsbook to debut within a Major League Baseball stadium. As MLB’s first-ever official gaming partner in 2018, BetMGM collaborates with teams like the Reds and Nationals and serves as the league’s official betting partner. The Bengals and Betfred established a deal in July, while FC Cincinnati partnered with SuperBook Sports. Even grocery stores are getting in on the action. Kroger is scheduled to open sports betting operations in 13 locations throughout Greater Cincinnati.

Signed, sealed, and delivered

The Ohio Casino Control Commission previously granted The Reds conditional approval for an actual sportsbook, and BetMGM is named as the planned management services provider for the enterprise. BetMGM will function as a retail operator for MGM Northfield Park and the Cedar Downs off-track betting facility and provide statewide internet sports betting.

The Reds sought to bring the best operator to our ballpark for those fans who choose to participate in sports gambling when sports gaming came to Ohio, according to Doug Healy, the Reds’ top financial officer. “BetMGM is famous for its experience in sports betting and entertainment, and we think their brand best satisfies our high standards for customer service and will also bring tourists to our city.”

When can the players start betting?

Additionally, bettors can access self-service kiosks in taverns and eateries with liquor licenses and download Ohio sports apps to place wagers.
