Complete legal sports betting in Ohio, including at the Word Equestrian Center will debut no later than January 1, 2023. However, as of now WEC has not applied to open their own sportsbook.

Since the introduction of the January 2023 deadline, many other states have planned the start of their legal sports betting markets to coincide with the NFL’s regular season kickoff. However, no revised timeline guidance has been offered.

There is hope for sports bettors that the market will be at least substantially active by the time the NFL season begins in September.

The Ohio Casino Control Commission will reveal regular updates as to which sportsbooks they would partner with for 2023.
